15 August 2016 – Officers of the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles (FACC-GLA) and the Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce, Inc. (FPACC) called on Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles Adelio Angelito S. Cruz on August 04. The Director of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Los Angeles, Mr. Jose Dinsay also joined the meeting.
Mr. Noel S. V. Omega, FPACC VP Public Relations and FACC-GLA Charter Co-Founder/Pres. Emeritus; Ms. Mary Ann Omega, FPACC VP for Membership; and Mr. Gerry Palon, FPACC VP of Pacific Region and Trade Mission Project Director and FACC-GLA Immediate Past President shared updates about the 2016 FPACC International Trade and Humanitarian Mission to the Philippines.
The said mission is slated for October 10 to 23 with delegates from the US, Africa, and the Caribbean. Several activities are lined-up for delegates including management workshops by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), business matching meetings, and the main business conference which will be held at the Marriott Hotel Manila at Resorts World Manila.
Field tours to popular Philippine tourism destinations will follow the conference proper. The areas to be visited include Intramuros, Bulacan, Tagaytay, Mindoro, and Palawan. A team relief mission will also be conducted during their visit to the Philippines.
FACC-GLA, formerly known as the San Fernando Valley Filipino American Chamber of Commerce, works for the betterment and success of the Filipino business community by providing increased opportunities, activities and services that will help businesses realize their potential for growth.
FPACC is an organization established in response to the perceived need to mobilize Philippine business communities in the U.S. It now has a network of 42 chapters and over 5,000 companies.
Consul General Cruz commended the FPACC and FACC-GLA officers for their continued efforts to promote trade and investments to and from the Philippines. The Consul General also conveyed the support of the Consulate General together with its attached agencies, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-LA and the Philippine Department of Tourism –LA for programs that further enhance tourism, trade and investment relations with the Philippines.
