23 August 2016 — Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver was invited recently to an audience with the Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Guadaibiya Palace in Manama on August 21.

Ambassador Ver took the opportunity to reiterate the government’s appreciation for the Prime Minister’s concern for the expatriate community not only in Bahrain but for the brewing issue in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He also took the opportunity to apprise the Prime Minister of the comprehensive actions being undertaken by the Philippine government to assist the stranded overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the KSA and to thank the Prime Minister for the continued good treatment and overall condition of the OFWs in Bahrain and the active response and cooperation of different agencies of the government in helping address the problems encountered by expatriate workers.
