25 August 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka visited the Office of the Philippine Honorary Consul (OPHC) in Chittagong from August 18 to 19 to conduct Post’s inspection and meeting with the Filipinos based in Chittagong, which is 248.1 km away from Dhaka. 

On the first day, the Embassy was able to establish a network with the Chittagong Metropolitan Police to ensure safety and protection to Filipinos based in the area, and with the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss possible business ventures between the Philippines and Bangladesh.

The following day, the Embassy team met with the Filipino community and discussed the services being offered by the OPHC and inquired on their state living in Chittagong. END
