02 September 2016 — Photos of Philippine tourism destinations were showcased recently at a photo exhibit during the First Philippine Festival in Moscow in Old Arbat Street from August 24 to 30. The exhibit featured photos from the Department of Tourism’s “Visit Philippines Again 2016” campaign with text and captions written in Russian.

The exhibition received was warmly received by locals and tourists alike. Some of them even took photographs in front of the exhibition. When asked why, they responded that they either recall fond memories of their visit to these places or plan to one day visit the country.

“The exhibition really appealed to the Russians. I think it’s because of the quality of the photos and also it seems that the humor of DOT’s 2016 campaign translated well to Russian”, Ambassador Carlos D. Sorreta said. “Together with the Philippine products, food, and performances, it really gave the Russians a peek into our beautiful country,” he added.

During the festival, one of the cottages catered to tourism information where people can avail of Russian-language brochures regarding the different Philippine destinations, including booking information from tour operators. END
