16 October 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Doha informed the Department of Foreign Affairs that the United Filipino Organizations in Qatar (UFOQ) had its first General Meeting for the UFOQ on October 11.

UFOQ is the umbrella organization of all accredited Filipino organizations in Qatar. It aims to promote the common goals of all said organizations. The first chairman of UFOQ is Arch. Jhin Tabuzo of United Architects of the Philippines (UAP).

During the general meeting, all participants committed to become members of UFOQ’s committees. They also discussed the possible events and programs for the year 2014.

The following are UFOQ’s Committees:

·         Committee on Welfare and Outreach;

·         Committee on Advocacy and Trainings;

·         Committee on Emergency Response and Contingency Planning;

·         Committee on Programs and Events;

·         Committee on Logistics and Goods;

·         Committee on Ways and Means;

·         Committee on Promotions and Publicity;

·         Committee on Sports and Wellness; and

·         Committee on Independence day Celebration.
