05 September 2016 — Philippine Consul General to Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes met with Mr. Glen Roque, Senior Manager of Globe’s International Business Group on September 04.

The meeting discussed Globe’s proposals to link with Etisalat and Du (UAE’s telecom providers) and work out a scheme in providing unlimited call access to any Globe number in the Philippines using the UAE phone network.

Consul General Cortes provided an overview of the diverse community in Dubai and the Consulate’s initiatives to reach out to the majority of the Filipino community. The Consulate notes that the growth of the Filipino population in Dubai would create greater demands from the community to the UAE telecom providers for a proactive campaign strategy to target the Filipino market.

The current regulations on community events and activities in compliance with the policies of Community Development Authority (CDA) were also discussed. END
