05 September 2016 — The Philippine Consulate General in Manado repatriated 174 Filipino fishermen on 31 August 2016 via a fishing boat KM KUDA LAUT 01. The boat sailed off from the Indonesian Navy SATKAMLA pier in Bitung on August 31 at 8:10 p.m. and is expected to dock at the Panakan Naval Wharf in Davao City at 8:00 a.m. on September 03.

The mass repatriation of fishermen was undertaken in cooperation with KM Kuda Laut 01 owner Mr. Voltaire Loma, a Filipino businessman who is a long-time resident of Bitung. The combined efforts of the Post and Mr. Loma enabled the 174 Filipino fishermen to return home and reunite with their families. END
