Manama

07 September 2016 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama organized the Ambassador’s Cup II Inter-Filcom Bowling Tournament held at the Funland Bowling Center, Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain, on August 26.

The tournament was participated by 36 teams from various Filipino organizations in the Kingdom including the six (6) teams from Embassy, Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG, and LandBank personnel.

The participating Filipino community organizations include Dabarkadz, Proudly Pinoy OFWS, Discover Islam, FC Mabuhay Toastmasters Club, Filipino Club Ten Pin Bowlers, Filipino Club Tennis Group, Filipino American Association, Filipino Mountain Bikers Bahrain, Global Bisdak, Guardians Delta Force International, Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers, Muslim Tausog Association, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Malditas, Pinoy Badminton Group, Phenomena Productions, Iglesia Ni Cristo, Philippine International Certified Public Accountants, Philippine Institute of Certified Quality Surveyors, Pinay Ikaw Na!, Philippine Professional Organization of Bahrain, Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers, Travelers Tribe Masonic Club Bahrain, and United Architects of the Philippines.

Each team played a three-game series to determine the winners. The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) won the team championship, while the 2nd and 3rd places went to the Philippine International Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Dabarkadz Group, respectively. Other winners include Mr. Alfred Peria and Mr. Medel Villanueva of INC as the Doubles High Game champions. Mr. Larry Querilejo of PICPA was the Singles High Game Champion for men and Ms. Mina Salazar of FCTB was the Singles High Game Champion for Women. Special awards were given to participants who garnered the lowest scores.

The tournament was organized to foster unity and camaraderie among Filipino community organizations in Bahrain. It is likewise part of the Embassy’s continuing efforts to further strengthen its relations with the Filipino community in the country.

The event’s major sponsor is the Social Security System. Other minor sponsors include Pag-IBIG Fund, LandBank, Kainan sa Manama Restaurant, and Travelers Tribe Masonic Club Bahrain. END
