15 September 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh conducted the 2nd Consular Mission to Sri Lanka on August 27 to 28 at the Office of the Philippine Honorary Consul in Colombo. In addition to passport renewals, the team also processed registrations of birth of Filipino-Sri Lankan children and change of surnames/civil status of Filipino spouses of Sri Lankans.
On August 28, the Embassy team held a meeting with Filipino community representatives in Sri Lanka to discuss issues encountered by Filipinos in the area. The consular mission was conducted in line with the Department of Foreign Affairs’ mandate to protect the rights and promote the welfare and interest of Filipinos overseas. END
