Hon Pacaf

15 September 2016 — General Terrence J. O'Shaughnessy, Commander of US Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) hosted a roundtable discussion and luncheon for resident Consuls General in Hawaii on September 07 at the PACAF Headquarters, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. The Consuls General of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines and South Korea attended the event. 

General O’ Shaughnessy and his team briefed the group of the activities of the PACAF and exchange views with the diplomats on various issues.

Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin expressed her gratitude to Gen. O’Shaughnessy for his hospitality and PACAF’s active involvement in PH-US joint projects and activities. She also thanked PACAF for hosting the 5th PAF-PACAF Airman to Airman (A2A) Talks which were successfully conducted last August 29 to 31 in Hawaii.  

These regular dialogues further strengthen the relationship between the U.S. Pacific Air Forces and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and help coordinate future activities by both Air Forces in line with PH-US Mutual Defense Treaty and the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA). Consul General Jamoralin also stressed the need for closer PACAF and PAF cooperation for capacity building and strengthening the PH-Hawaii State Partnership Program (SPP) between PAF, PACAF and the Hawaii Air National Guard.

Gen. O’ Shaughnessy reaffirmed the U.S. rebalance policy and that the U.S. will remain focused on Asia. END
