19 September 2016 — Prior to their official meetings, President Joko Widodo brought President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to a blusukan (impromptu visit) at the Tanah Abang Market, a sub-district in Central Jakarta known for hosting the biggest textile market in Southeast Asia and Jakarta's equivalent of Divisoria. The two Presidents were greeted by retailers and thousands of visitors eager to see them. 

After visiting Tanah Abang, President Widodo officially welcomed President Duterte to the State Palace, where the two leaders held a tête-a-tête meeting and expanded bilateral meeting, accompanied by Secretary Perfecto Yasay, Jr. and a number of Cabinet Secretaries. END
