20 September 2016 — Chargé d’Affaires Elmer G. Cato of the Philippine Embassy in Baghdad recently met with law enforcement officials from the High Committee to Combat Human Trafficking of the Kurdistan Regional Government to check the status of human trafficking and other cases involving Filipino workers in Iraq’s northern autonomous region. The Embassy has been able to resolve several human trafficking cases and repatriated a number of Filipino victims since it began actively engaging Kurdish authorities last year. END
