20 September 2016—Saturday evenings will see an abundance of Filipino gastronomic delights at the Restaurant Wittigkofen’s All-You-Can-Eat Buffet in Berne, Switzerland from September 2016 to April 2017.

Restaurant Wittigkofen in Jupiterstrasse 15 launched its first Filipino buffet night with well-loved Filipino dishes such as adobong manok (chicken stewed in vinegar, garlic, soy sauce, bay leaves, and peppercorns), kalderetang baka (spicy beef stew), pancit (sautéed noodles), lumpia(spring rolls), and shrimp curry.

Filipina chef Sarah Banaag prepared the said dishes.  Banaag migrated to Berne in 2004, when she was still 19.

Ms. Banaag, who currently works as an accountant for a Swiss company, partnered with Restaurant Wittigkofen with the hopes of taking the Swiss on a Philippine food trip through the various Filipino dishes she will be whipping up for the Saturday dinner buffets.  END
