17 October 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, in partnership with Ark Bangkok Schoolhouse and Ministry Center and volunteer Filipino teachers in Thailand, successfully held the 4th Paaralan sa Pasuguan from October 8 to 10 at the Embassy grounds.
Paaralan sa Pasuguan is a free, three- day educational program open to Filipino students and youth from elementary and secondary levels. It aims to raise awareness of Filipino values, customs, and tradition among Filipino youth in the Kingdom of Thailand, many of whom had been born and raised there.
Over 95 students participated in the program which consisted of workshops on arts and crafts, outdoor Filipino games, dance and song, and science and technology. A special session on raising awareness of the ASEAN Community was also included in the 2013 program. Participants were awarded certificates of participation on the last day of the program.
Paaralan sa Pasuguan is part of the Embassy’s socio-cultural diplomacy efforts to strengthen ties between second- and third-generation Filipinos and the Philippines. END
