21 September 2016 — A six-member team from the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted the Consulate’s 7th outreach for this year in Southfield, Michigan on September 10.

Preceding the outreach was a brief program which included remarks by Consul Ericka Anna Abad and Ms. Rebecca Tungol, President of the Philippine American Cultural Center of Michigan (PACCM), the Consulate General’s community partner in the outreach mission. Representatives of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board also gave presentations in which they informed the Filipino and Filipino-American communities in Michigan about the laws that protect workers’ rights in the U.S.

The Consulate team, with the assistance of PACCM volunteers, delivered consular services to more than 250 Filipinos in Southfield and other neighboring areas in Michigan. These consular services included ePassport, notarials, civil registry and dual citizenship. END
