26 September 2016 ­­ — Ajman First Police Officer Johnray Cerna, the first Filipino Police Officer in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, called on Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes at the Consulate General on September 22.

Officer Cerna, who has resided in the UAE since 2006, was born in Zamboanga City on March 30, 1972 and graduated with a degree in Business Management from the Mindanao Sulu State College. He writes, reads, and speaks fluent Arabic.

Many Filipinos work at the Dubai Police Stations and Headquarters but are hired as civilians. Officer Cerna has been with the Ajman Police for four years now and is known to be the only Filipino Police Officer in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and possibly even in the UAE. END
