26 September 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua hosted the ASEAN Heads of Missions’ Meeting held at the Melia Hotel Yangon on September 22.
During the meeting, Ambassador Chua reported on the turnover of the ASEAN Chairmanship to the Philippines at the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summit Meetings hosted by Lao People’s Democratic Republic’s in Vientiane, Laos.
The Meeting tackled the political and economic developments in Myanmar, particularly the outcome of the recently concluded Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong and the lifting of economic sanctions for Myanmar.
The ASEAN Heads of Missions Meeting in Myanmar serves as a venue for an exchange of views and information on pressing issues in the region and in the host country. END
