26 September 2016 — The Philippine Consulate General in Milan met with city officials on 21 September 2016 to convey its gratitude for the hospitality accorded to Filipinos living in Milan and to discuss civil registry issues affecting them.

At the meeting, Consul Conrado Demdem, Jr. informed Director Andrea Zuccotti of the Citizenship Field Service that there were more than 50,000 overseas Filipinos in Milano Province, including Milan City, making positive contributions to the economy and society.

At the same time, he conveyed to the Comune the satisfaction and gratitude of the Consulate for ensuring that Filipinos in Milan generally lived and worked in a safe and healthy environment.

Consul Demdem and Director Zuccotti exchanged views on a number of subjects, including the different ways to strengthen collaboration between the Consulate General and the Comune di Milano (City Administration of Milan) on the sharing of information and on hastening the issuance of civil registry documents to overseas Filipinos who wish to file reports of birth, marriage, or death with the Consulate.

The meeting was requested by the Consulate as a follow-through on the discussions held with Vice-Prefect Simone Pesola on September 06.END
