28 September 2016—The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu conducted a mobile consular outreach in Lihue, Kauai from September 24 to 25 in its goal of bringing consular services closer to the Filipinos in Kauai.
The consular team provided a total of 131 consular services which included applications for the renewal of passports, notarials, authentication of documents, civil registration and dual citizenship during the two-day outreach program.
The activity was held in coordination with Mr. Jimmy Iloreta, the President-elect of the United Filipino Council of Hawaii, and the statewide umbrella organization of all Filipino American organizations in Hawaii; and Ms. Charlmaine Bulosan, President of the Kauai Filipino Community Council.
Mr. Iloreta expressed appreciation for the consular team’s services to kababayans on Kauai, and for favorably considering their request for another visit this year, given the very short notice. He also expressed hope that the Consulate will consider visiting Kauai at least two times a year, in the future. END
