29 September 2016 – Well-known anti-crime crusader Mr. Dante Jimenez, founding Chairman and President of Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) paid a courtesy call on the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu on September 21.

Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin warmly welcomed him during his first visit to Hawaii. Mr. Jimenez expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality of the Filipino community in Hawaii and was impressed by the natural beauty of the island state.

Consul General Jamoralin briefed him on the projects and activities of the Philippine Consulate including the history of the Filipino migrant workers in Hawaii who are popularly known as the sakadas.

The sakadas whose first arrived in Hawaii on December 20, 1906 and were instrumental in the nascence  of the Filipino Community in Hawaii.

Mr. Jimenez talked about his journey as an anti-crime crusader and how he established VACC, which grew into a large organization committed to fighting crime and  corruption. END
