29 September 2016— Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz paid courtesy calls on his ASEAN counterparts, the Consuls General of Malaysia, Raja Ridzuwan Raja Kamaruddin, and Thailand, Tanee Sangrat, on September 14 and 15 respectively.

Consul General Cruz had an insightful discussion with his counterparts on US politics and the recent developments on the Philippines.

Consul General Cruz took the opportunity to convey appreciation for Malaysia’s and Thailand’s continued support for the Philippines regarding the issue of the West Philippine Sea and their shared aspiration for maritime security in the ASEAN region.

During the said meetings, the Consuls General agreed to further strengthen the coordination and cooperation among ASEAN Consulates General in Los Angeles in pursuing their common interests.

Consul General Cruz arrived in Los Angeles on July 28 as the new Consul General of the Philippines. END
