ROME 1

04 October 2016 — An eight-man team from the Embassy, which included representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), set up a consular outreach mission in the city of Cagliari, where most Filipinos in the island of Sardinia are located. Over 350 Filipinos were served by the Philippine Embassy in Rome during its mission held on October 01-02.

For two days, the team from Rome processed 371 ePassport applications, 44 notarial services (including reports of birth and affidavits), 55 OWWA membership registrations, and 28 Balik Manggagawa Online advocacy services.

The consular team partnered with Cagliari Filipino community leaders and volunteers, as well as the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Cagliari, to facilitate a well-organized consular mission in Sardinia.

The Philippine Embassy in Rome expressed its appreciation to all the Cagliari volunteers who helped organize the consular outreach. END
