05 October 2016 — Members of the Filipino community in Indonesia welcomed and expressed great appreciation for the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-ibig, PhilHealth and LandBank Forum organized by the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the country. The forum was held on October 01 at the Embassy premises.
PhilHealth Vice President for Member Management Group Mr. Alberto Manduriao, SSS Representative in Brunei Ms. Mary Jessielyn C. Sia, Pag-IBIG Manager Mr. Juanito Angelito A. Jareño and LandBank representative Ms. Grace Sausa served as resource speakers during the forum, which drew more than 100 members of the Filipino community.
Mr. Manduriao highlighted the importance of reactivating Philhealth membership accounts and expounded on the many benefits provided by the government agency to OFWs and their dependents. SSS representative Ms. Sia presented the entitlements of SSS members, payment deadline and the SSS Flexi-fund Program which provides OFWs the opportunity to set aside a part of their earnings abroad and maximize the returns on their Flexi-fund contributions. Mr. Jareño discussed housing loan and saving programs of Pag-IBIG while Ms. Suasa of LandBank talked about payment facilities and applications.
Following the briefing, the rest of the day was devoted to rendering on-site services for the attendees. Members of the Filipino Community in Indonesia had the opportunity to apply for membership, update and verify their records, reactivate their accounts, amend their personal data and discuss loan applications with the various government agencies invited by the Embassy to the forum.
