05 October 2016 — Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo delivered a lecture at the National Defense College (NDC) of Bangladesh at the invitation of NDC Officials on September 20. This was the Ambassador’s second consecutive year to be invited to deliver a lecture by the NDC. He was accompanied by Third Secretary and Vice Consul LV de Guzman. Both were welcomed by NDC officials, headed by Lieutenant General Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy, Commandant of the National Defense College of Bangladesh.

Ambassador Bandillo’s lecture entitled, “CONTEMPORARY PHILIPPINES: Foreign Policy, Security and Development Strategy, and Philippines-Bangladesh Relations,” covered the Philippines’ general trade and security outlooks; the Philippines’ role in the ASEAN and the importance of connectivity vis-à-vis security and the ASEAN economic community; and Philippines-Bangladesh bilateral relations. Ambassador Bandillo emphasized the shared objective of enhancing exchanges in view of the two nations’ common goals of increased trade and sustainable development. END
