18 October 2013 - The Philippine Social Security System (SSS) concluded the San Francisco leg of its outreach activities in the United States on October 12 at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco.
Officials from the SSS, led by President and CEO Emilio S. De Quiros, Jr., were present to conduct the on-site services and address the concerns of our kababayans.
Approximately 150 Filipinos from the Bay Area and Washington state availed themselves of the On-Site Services and attended the briefing. Among the services conducted by the SSS were registration for new members, reactivation of membership for existing members, enrollment in the flexi-fund program, member data amendment, MySSS assistance, annual confirmation of pensioners, and pensioner data amendment.
During the briefing, SSS President De Quiros and Senior Vice President for International Operations Judy Frances A. See discussed the current SSS services available for overseas Filipinos. Furthermore, a new program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) was also introduced. The OFW Program is one of the products of the Philippine Government’s objective to provide protection to labor whether it is located locally or overseas. It aims to reach out to Filipinos all over the world and offer to kababayans the social security program of the Philippines.
Existing SSS members who were not able to attend the On-site Service and Briefing could still voice out their concerns to SSS by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
