07 October 2016 — The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi organized a Gender and Development (GAD) talk for the Filipino community in Hyderabad, including their spouses and dependents, on October 02.
Philippine Ambassador to India Ma. Teresita C. Daza and Ms. Meri Jayne Cruz Cinco briefed the Filipino community on the “Magna Carta of Women” and highlighted the important role of women in society. Ambassador Daza also spoke on the Embassy’s key advocacies, the role of the Filipino community, as well as its concerns including drug related issues.
A registration of Filipinos in Hyderabad for inclusion in the Embassy’s database was also conducted.
After the Filipino Community gathering, the Ambassador, her spouse, Ms. Cinco, and members of the Philippine Honorary Consulate General (PHCG) Chennai visited the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad, where the two Filipinas who were emergency off-loaded from their flights due to premature delivery onboard, were previously admitted during the months of April, May and August, respectively.
The Embassy team met with Mr. Neeraj Garg, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Hospital and the other officials of the hospital who briefed them on Apollo’s operations/plans. Ambassador Daza conveyed her appreciation for the assistance provided by the hospital to the two Filipinas during their stay in the hospital. END
