07 October 2016 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama assisted a distinguished panel of examiners from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) that conducted the Professional Electronics Engineering (PECE) Upgrade and ASEAN Engineer Registry Interviews from September 26 to 29 and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) interviews on October 01for Filipino engineers in Bahrain and other GCC countries.
The oral examinations and interviews were conducted at the Philippine Embassy Conference Hall.
A total of 114 Engineers from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE were screened by the panel for the following categories: 35 applications for upgrade from Associate Electronics Engineer to Professional Electronics Engineer (PECE); 14 ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer Register (ACPER) for Electronics Engineering; 30 ASEAN Engineer Register (AER) and ASEAN Associate Engineer Register (AAER) from the field of Electronics Engineers; 30 AER from Civil Engineering; 4 AER from Mechanical Engineering and 1 AER from Electrical Engineering.
Last month, the Embassy, in partnership with the Pilipino Professional Organization (PPO) and the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) chapters in Bahrain conducted a seminar-writeshop to help engineers in the preparation of their application for submission to the PRC panel. Another seminar-writeshop was also conducted for those in the field of Civil Engineering under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) - Bahrain chapter.
The PRC examiners were optimistic on the performance of the Filipino engineers during the interview sessions as they expressed the hope that more Filipino professionals heed their call for continuing professional development, enhancing competencies and competitiveness and aspiring for recognition and inclusion in international professional organizations such as the ASEAN Engineer Registry. They noted the exceptional hosting both by the different engineering organizations and the assistance of the Embassy. The PRC hopes that this will become a more frequent undertaking that would be very beneficial for Filipino professionals working abroad. END
