10 October 2016 — After three sessions of Canon’s Photography and Film Making Workshop, the top ten students were chosen on October 07 to proceed to the Film Making Module.

The students who made it to the next level are: Simond Lars Darwin Lenon (TPS), Christine Meagan De Leon (FEPS), Jeremiah Adrian Cerdon (TPS), Justin Sepulveda (FEPS), Jazhiel Aca-ac (FEPS), Jireh Eunice Flores (UIPS), Thomas Elijah Firma (TPS), Sherjie Bautista (UIPS), Aimee Chloe Valerie Hular (TPS) and Xandrine Raisa Namocatcat (TPS).

The 22 students from the three Philippine Overseas Schools in Dubai and the Northern Emirates – The Philippine School in Dubai, The United International Private School of Dubai, and the Far Eastern Private School of Sharjah – submitted their 3 best photographs from which the panel of judges chose the top 10 photo shots. The judges were: Dr. Yasmin Balajadia-Cortes, Ms. Mariecar Jara-Puyod (Journalist, The Gulf Today) and Mr. Danny Rodriguez (Managing Director, D Media Hub FZE).

All submitted photographs will be put on display at the Rizal Hall of the Philippine Consulate as part of the Consulate’s Art Series. The photographs will also be published in a coffee table book which will be distributed to the 3 Philippine Schools in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Dubai Public Library System, various government offices in the UAE and to concerned Philippine government agencies.
