10 October 2016 The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, broke ground today for the construction of the new official residence of the Consul General of the Philippines at 119 Julie Court, Jonestown, Tamuning, Guam.

The contract for the project was awarded to BME & Sons, Inc., a Guam-based construction company established in 1986.

The property in Jonestown, which consists of land and an existing residential building, is owned by the Government of the Philippines and has served as the official residence of the Consul General of the Philippines since it was acquired 47 years ago in 1969. The old structure had to be torn down to give way to the construction of a new official residence. BME & Sons, Inc. was awarded the public tender for the demolition of the existing structure and the construction of the new official residence.

The new official residence of the Consul General, with a total project value of USD 1.27 million, is expected to be completed by the first half of 2017. END
