Bangkok consular outreach and financial literacy seminar

21 October 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a consular outreach program in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand on October 12.

It was the first time for Filipinos in the said province to be visited by a team from the Philippine Embassy. There are at least 120 Filipinos in the province, many of whom are working as teachers. The consular team, headed by Vice Consul Anna Marie C. Santos, rendered passport and other consular services, including legalization of documents, and issuance of Filipino citizen identification cards. The consular outreach team rendered over 50 service requests during the program.

During the outreach program, Vice Consul Santos briefed the community on the movement of natural persons in preparation for the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. She conducted the 11th Financial Learning Seminar (FLS) and provided information on the Embassy’s new website (www.bangkokpe.com) and official Facebook page (facebook.com/bkkpe). She also updated the community on the Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) of the Philippine Department of Education, particularly on the upcoming exam from November 15 to 16.
