12 October 2016 – Philippine Consul General Imelda M. Panolong graced the Opening Ceremony of the “8th AlBaik Team Tennis Challenge 2016” at the tennis courts of Trio-Ranch Country Club, Jeddah on September 30.  

The annual year-end tennis tournament was organized by the Association of Tennis Club in Jeddah (ASTEC) under the helm of Chairman Bernie Soguilon and Tournament Director Tonton Pana, in partnership with AlBaik Food System, represented by Mr. Bassam Al Seyofi (PR Manager).

The event, which was participated in by more than 50 teams from different clubs, was opened with a traditional parade of teams in their splendid uniforms. During her inspirational speech, Consul General Panolong congratulated ASTEC for organizing the event and wishes all the participants good luck.

She also commended ASTEC for recently organizing a tennis tournament for tennis enthusiasts who are also workers of the Saudi Oger Limited company who are currently facing difficulties due to the financial problems of the company.  She urged ASTEC to value its partnership with its sponsors and to continue organizing tournaments that engender physical fitness and the mental well-being of all its participants.

The tournament will run until November 20 and the Awarding Ceremony will be on November 25.
