13 October 2016 — A team from the Philippine Embassy in Turkey joined the Filipino Community in Turkey (FCT) in commemorating their 2nd Anniversary at the Grand Cevahir Hotel and Convention Center, Istanbul on October 08.
The celebration was attended by over 400 people. FCT President, Ms. Elma Trinidad, gave the opening remarks and Filipino dancers performed both traditional Filipino and modern dances as part of the night’s festivities. Philippine Ambassador Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez delivered a speech congratulating FCT on their anniversary and presented awards to FCT members.
The team held a breakfast meeting with Mr. Raşit Tibet, General Manager of Tarasim Media+PR on October 09. Mr. Tibet said that he will be leading a group of Turkish businessmen to Manila to attend and participate in Manila Fame from October 20 to 22. Mr. Tibet said that there are many opportunities to do business in the Philippines.
The team had lunch with officers of the Filipino Community in Istanbul led by Ms. Carmen Martin at the Udonya Japanese Restaurant on October 09. She shared their group’s plans to organize different events during the year and thanked the Embassy for their continued support.
Ambassador Sanchez briefed them on recent events and developments in the Philippines and thanked them for their efforts as a group. END
