18 October 2016 — The first batch of Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) concluded their training conducted by the Filipino on-going Development Program (FILODEP) at Holland Road, Singapore on October 16.
Philippine Ambassador Antonio A. Morales, Acting Labour Attaché Ramon Lamberto Pastrana, and other representatives of the Philippine Embassy witnessed the ceremony. Ambassador Morales commended the graduates for their achievement.
The Ambassador conveyed his appreciation to the Sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) headed by Sister Rosalind Chan, the volunteer teachers and employers for extending their full support to the OFW trainees.
Ambassador Morales also mentioned that the Philippine Embassy will continue to partner with FILODEP in promoting the well-being of OFWs in Singapore. FILODEP was founded in 1988 by FMM and the Philippine Embassy to provide pastoral care to Filipino HSWs and to train them with new skills for alternative livelihood in the future.
