20 October 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to India Ma. Teresita C. Daza launched the taxi transit advertising of Philippine tourist destinations at the Embassy grounds on October 10 as part of the Embassy’s continuing tourism promotion efforts in partnership with the Philippine Tourism Marketing Office in New Delhi.
One hundred thirty taxis will ply the roads of New Delhi featuring key tourist attractions such as Bohol, Cebu, Davao, and Manila on the taxis’ sides and back. The use of taxi transit advertising is a powerful tool to raise awareness on Philippine tourism and to project the country’s beautiful tourist destinations
The taxis will also have brochures containing five tour packages to famous tourism destinations in the Philippines.
The launch was organized by the Philippine Tourism Marketing Office (PTMO) Buzz Travel Marketing India Private Limited Representative Mr. San Jeet, Director Ms. Navritu Kaushal Rai, and other PTMO representatives and attended by media representatives from Travel Trends Today, TravelBiz Monitor, Business World, Travel Gurung, as well as members of KAPIHAN (organization of Filipinas who are married to Indian nationals) and the Embassy personnel.
As part of the launch, Ambassador Daza was also interviewed by the media on Indian arrivals in the Philippines, visa policy and process, tourism promotion efforts and future tourism activities for India.
In 2015, India has been one of the major markets accounting for nearly 75,000 visitors, posting 22.36 percent year-on-year growth. The DOT is targeting 100,000 Indian tourist arrivals in 2017. END
