20 October 2016 – A business delegation led by the Bahrain Asian Traders Committee (BATC) of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) travelled to the Philippines to attend Manila FAME 2016 from October 20 to 22.

The group is also scheduled to meet with Philippine government officials, companies, and investors with the aim of strengthening the economic relations between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Bahrain.  During the press conference held at the BCCI Headquarters in Bait Al Tijjar, Sanabis, on October 17, BATC Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Sajid Uzhar Al Haq highlighted that the delegation will be promoting Bahrain as the gateway to the GCC during the trip. 

Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver, welcomed the BCCI’s initiative and likewise emphasized that this first visit after a long time from Bahrain’s business community is a good venue to revitalize trade relations between the two countries. He also stressed that Bahrain should also see the PHL as a gateway to South East Asia and Asia, in general.

The Manila FAME is the Philippines’ premier design and lifestyle event that “showcases the craftsmanship, design innovation and artisanship in Philippine products.
