21 October 2016 — Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles Adelio Angelito Cruz attended the 25th Annual Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture (FPAC) held at Echo Park Lake, Los Angeles on October 08.

The 25th annual celebration of FPAC is organized by the FilAm Arts with a mission to facilitate community synergy and transformation by advancing arts and diverse cultural heritage of Filipinos through arts services, presentation and education.

In his remarks, the Consul General commended and thanked the organizers of FPAC, particularly the officers and Board of Directors of FilAm ARTS, for their efforts on the silver jubilee celebration, producing not only a yearly event but “Southern California’s largest ongoing Filipino American tradition.”  FPAC has provided a platform for promoting Filipino heritage and culture to the mainstream American community as well as to the young Filipino-Americans who live amidst the multicultural and ethnically diverse city of Los Angeles.

The festival was made even more special as it was held in October during the Filipino-American History Month, recognizing the large presence of Filipinos in the United States and their contributions to the development of political, economic and socio-cultural life of mainstream American society throughout the centuries since the first “Luzones Indios” arrived in Morro Bay, California in October 1587.
