26 October 2016 — A delegation from Pangasinan province headed by Governor Amado I. Espino, III paid a courtesy call on Consul General Marciano R. de Borja at the Philippine Consulate General in Guam as part of their visit to Guam on October 24. Governor Espino was invited by his counterpart Guam Governor Eddie B. Calvo as part of the strengthening of the twinning agreement between Pangasinan and Guam signed in September 2012.
The twinning agreement is an initiative of the Federation of Pangasinanses of Guam, led by its president, Major Vic Rivo, Jr. (Ret.) and two senators of the Guam Legislature, Majority Leader Rory Respicio of the 33rd Guam Legislature and former Senator Judith Guthertz, who are also adopted son and daughter of Pangasinan.
Prior to the visit at the Consulate General, Governor Eddie Calvo and First Lady, Madam Christine M.S. Calvo, welcomed Governor Espino and his delegation and hosted a luncheon at the Government House in Agana Heights.
The luncheon was attended by Guam Delegate to the U.S. Congress Madeleine Z. Bordallo, Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio, Senator Rory Respicio and Madam Joleen Respicio, former Senator Judith Guthertz, and other Guam government officials. Also in attendance were officers and members of the Filipino community headed by Ms. Lolita Gagaoin, Acting President of the Federation of Pangasinanses of Guam and Ms. Nita Baldovino, President of the Filipino Community of Guam. Officers and staff of the Consulate General were also invited to the luncheon. END
