20 October 2016 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in partnership with Cosplay.PH, intensified its public diplomacy campaign through its participation in Cosplay Mania ’16, held on October 01 and 02 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex.

The design of the DFA booth highlighted this year’s theme, “The New Philippine ePassport Design.” DFA personnel manning the booth wore navy blue collared shirts with DFA advocacy logo, which read “Naglilingkod Saan Mang Dako ng Mundo.”

Cosplayers and cosplay-enthusiasts participated in games and other gimmicks of DFA such as pachinko, memory game, ring toss, and trivia game. Prizes such as bookmarks, keychains, whistles, pens, and/or stamp books were given to the winners.

Copies of the comic book entitled “Ang WPS, si Miguel, atbp.” were also given for free to portray how the West Philippine Sea affects the lives of the people in Masinloc. Kapitan DFA, the Department’s mascot, was one of the main attractions of the booth. This year however, Kapitana DFA was not in the event as she was fighting with villains abroad for the welfare of overseas Filipinos.

DFA’s participation in Cosplay Mania ’16 was made possible through the Office the of the Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns (OUCSCC) in collaboration with the Undersecretary for Administration (UA), Office of Public Diplomacy (OPD), Human Resources Management Office (HRMO), and Office of Assets Management and Support Services (OAMSS).
