21 October 2013 - Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Alejandro B. Mosquera met with Dr. Lydia Fedyakina, Rector of the Russian State Social University (RSSU), on September 17 in Moscow to discuss possible educational exchanges between Philippine academic institutions and RSSU.
Ambassador Mosquera stressed the importance of people-to-people interactions in the context of academic exchanges in advancing Philippines-Russia bilateral relations. He noted that the University of the Philippines, Diliman and Moscow State University have recently signed an agreement on academic cooperation and that a similar arrangement could be explored for RSSU.
After the meeting Ambassador Mosquera, together with Third Secretaries Luningning G. Camoying and Jeffrey Valdez, addressed a group of about 100 international relations students about the Philippines.
Founded in 1991, the RSSU is “a rapidly developing innovative research and development center” for social sciences education, with satellite campuses in various parts of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
At present, RSSU has cooperation agreements with more than 40 foreign academic, research and scientific institutions.
Also in the meeting were Mr. Sergey Naumenkov (Vice President of RSSU) and Mr. Yuri Raikov (Dean of the Department of Foreign Languages, RSSU). END
