28 October 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, led by Consul General Rosalita S. Prospero, recently concluded a consular outreach mission to Windsor, Ontario on October 22-23.

The outreach mission was composed of representatives from PAG-IBIG, Social Security System and Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO). The Consulate implemented for the first time the new ePassport system.

A total of fifty three (53) ePassport applications were processed, thirty four (34) notarial services including sixteen (16) applications for dual citizenship.

Consul General Prospero took the occasion to meet with the Mayor of Windsor, Mr. Drew Dilkens on October 21, to discuss possible future collaborative activities between the Philippines and Windsor, including a sister city relationship.

Per the 2011 Census, there are around 3,145 Filipinos living in Windsor, with jobs in the food manufacturing industries, farms, auto industries, health care workers, caregivers and nurses.

The outreach, held at the Filipino Community Centre Windsor, was organized in cooperation with the Filipino Community Center Inc. Windsor-Essex County officers and members, headed by its President, Architect Camilo Santos. END
