02 November 2016 - Philippine Ambassador to Oman Narciso T. Castañeda received the officers and members of the Philippine Association of Agencies Accredited to Oman, Inc. (PAAAOI) who are visiting the Sultanate on a marketing mission on October 31.

Headed by Mr. Roland Collado, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mondial Overseas Corporation, PAAAOI has been meeting with local manpower agencies to acquire greater appreciation of the hiring process of expatriate workers in Oman, appraise the willingness of the Omani agencies to comply with Philippine labor laws on the hiring of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and establish partnerships. Mr. Collado emphasized that PAAAOI is known for its adherence to improvements in Philippine recruitment and deployment procedures, disciplinary measures for erring employers and recruiters, and protection of Filipino workers.

During the courtesy call, Ambassador Castañeda stressed the need for recruiters to carefully select their counterpart Omani recruitment agencies. He reminded PAAAOI of their commitment to safeguard the interest, not only of their industry, but also of the OFWs in the region. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Muscat in ensuring the protection of the rights and the promotion of welfare of OFWs in Oman. END
