02 November 2016 — The Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles attended the 31st Annual Friendship Games at California State University in Fullerton, California October 22.
Friendship Games, which started in 1985, is a day of friendly but competitive picnic games, performances and celebration of Spirit, Pride, Unity, and Friendship “S.P.U.F., participated by over 40 Filipino-American Student organizations from college campuses representing California, Nevada and Arizona. Schools compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. The school that shows the most S.P.U.F is awarded an eight-foot tall trophy.
The very first champion of the picnic games was “Kasama” who hails from Mt. San Antonio College.
31 years later, the Friendship Games have become the highlight event of Filipino-American college life.
