02 November 2016 - The Philippine Consulate General in cooperation with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Social Security Service (SSS) in Toronto conducted a consular service-cum-community outreach mission in Hamilton, Ontario on October 29.

The first-ever consular outreach mission in Hamilton headed by Consul Edna May Lazaro was held at the Hamilton Filipino Community Centre (HFCC).  Consul Lazaro and the Philippine Consulate General team provided consular information and services on passport application, notarization of documents for use in the Philippines, reacquisition/retention of Philippine citizenship or dual citizenship and other consular-related services to walk-in applicants and individuals from the Filipino community.

The outreach program in Hamilton was organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto in coordination with Mr. Bonner Villabroza, HFCC President.  The HFCC located at 1275 King St. East, Hamilton, Ontario, was established to operate as a community center in the city of Hamilton.  It actively works with the supporting organizations and the larger community to build partnership in promoting and diversifying Philippine culture and heritage for easy integration to the multicultural Canadian society.

POLO and SSS Toronto Representatives were also on hand to give information, assistance and services to caregivers, permanent residents and former Filipinos/Filipino-Canadians during the successful outreach mission. END
