02 November 2016 — As part of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago’s efforts to reach out to as many Filipinos in the Midwest as possible, a team from the Philippine Consulate General in chicago conducted a Consular Outreach in Boonville, Missouri on October 15. This is the 10th Consular Outreach of the Consulate for this year.
The team, led by Consul General Generoso D.G. Calonge, delivered consular services to more than 130 Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in Missouri and other neighboring areas. These consular services included ePassport, notarials, civil registry and dual citizenship.
As part of the month-long celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM), the team also articipated in the formal evening event of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) - Missouri Chapter that aims to explore cultural diversity as a result of Filipino migration in the United States.
Hon. Lindell Shumake, Representative of the 5th District of the Missouri House of Representative, was the guest speaker at the FAHM event. Hon. Shumake, an ordained minister, is a frequent traveler to the Philippines. He has a high regard for Filipinos and expressed a desire for the continuance of the excellent relations between our countries. END
