08 November 2016 — A 20-member Polish delegation led by Undersecretary of State Mrs. Joanna Wronecka and composed of foreign ministry officials and representatives of the business sector visited Manila from October 09 to 13.
The delegation paid a courtesy call on Secretary of Foreign Affairs Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr., participated in the fourth round of the Philippines-Poland Political Consultations as well as in the Philippines-Poland Business Seminar, and attended the official inauguration of the production plant of the joint venture between Poland and the Philippines called the Pietrucha Manufacturing Philippines, Inc. which is located in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).
The Polish businessmen also had business-to-business (B2B) meetings with their Philippine counterparts. The last time a Polish business delegation visited the Philippines was 17 years ago, in March 1999.
Some members of the Polish business delegation attended the annual Business Summit of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) while others joined Amb. Paez in a meeting with PCCI officials. There were also those who decided to stay behind at the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles.
Undersecretary Mrs. Wronecka was welcomed at the airport on October 09 by Philippine envoy to Poland Ms. Patricia Ann V. Paez, Poland’s non-resident ambassador to the Philippines Mr. Marcin Kubiak and Poland’s Honorary Consul General in Manila Mr. Fernandino Lising, Jr. Ambassador Paez hosted a welcome dinner for the delegation.
On October 10, Undersecretary Wronecka and several officials of Poland’s foreign ministry paid a courtest call on Secretary of Foreign Affairs H.E. Perfecto Yasay.
They proceeded to the World Trade Center to participate in the Philippines-Poland Business Seminar. The Polish business delegation engaged in business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Filipino businessmen.
Later, the Polish foreign ministry officials had bilateral Political Consultations with Philippine officials led by DFA Undersecretary for Policy Enrique Manalo.
After this, the 20-member Polish delegation went to Mariveles, Bataan for the next day’s official inauguration of the production plant of the Pietrucha Manufacturing Philippines, Inc. END
