09 November 2016 — Farah Naseer Ali Haddad, Iraq’s candidate for the Miss Asia Pacific beauty pageant to be held in Palawan next week, paid a courtesy call on Chargé d’Affaires Elmer G. Cato of the Philippine Embassy in Baghdad on November 08.

The 19-year-old college student from Baghdad will be the second Iraqi to participate in an international beauty pageant since 1972. Just a few weeks ago, another Iraqi beauty titlist, Sozy Alsulaymani, participated in the Miss Earth beauty pageant that was also held in Manila. A third, Shaymaa Qasim, will compete in the Miss Universe beauty pageant to be held also in Manila in January. END
