17 November 2016 —A total of 520 trainees graduated from the skills training programme (STP) conducted by the Filipino Overseas Workers Singapore (FOWS) in a ceremony at the Qian Xi Restaurant in Tanjong Katong, Singapore on November 13.

The successful graduates, majority of whom are Filipino household service workers (HSWs), trained for different courses under FOWS STP for six months. Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales, accompanied by officials and representatives of the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, attended the ceremony.

FOWS was established in 2002 to provide training for Filipino HSWs at the Philippine Bayanihan Centre in Singapore. In recent years, however, it has opened its doors to HSWs of other nationalities, including those from Myanmar, Indonesia and India. The next STP cycle will begin in March 2017. END
