22 November 2016 — The Philippine Embassy in Rome opened its consular office on November 20 to provide full consular services to Filipino workers in anticipation of their travel needs for the Christmas holidays.

Most of the applicants came from as far as the city of Cosenza in Southern Italy. Ninety-two (92) applications for the renewal of passports have been processed and forty (40) various types of notarial or legal services have been rendered.

Sixty (60) transactions have been completed to update workers’ membership contributions to the Social Security System and Pag-IBIG while forty (40) applications for renewal of membership in Overseas Workers Welfare Fund and sixteen (16) applications for registration with the Balik-Manggagawa Online of the Department of Labor and Employment have been facilitated.

The Philippine Embassy holds Sunday consular services in Rome at least every quarter on top of its year-round consular outreach activities in the different regions or provinces of Italy. END
