24 November 2016 — The Philippine Consulate General Milan conducted a two-day mobile consular mission in Torino at the Chiesa di San Giovanni Evangelista with the support of the Filipino chaplaincy of Turin headed by Father Giovanni Benna from November 19 to 20.
The consular team supervised by Vice Consul Flaureen Dacanay, provided services for passport renewal, civil registrations and notarials. Social Security Services (SSS) also rendered service to Filipinos residing in Turin and nearby provinces.
A total of three hundred twenty-three (323) consular services were rendered for the two-day event.
The consular team was visited by Mr. Bernardo Bernardo, a popular movie and stage actor. He was in Torino to introduce the film, Lav Diaz’s “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” (Lullaby to the Sorrowful Mystery)”, which merited the Silver Bear Award at the recent Berlin International Film Festival, and Brillante Mendoza’s “Ma Rosa”, which won Jaclyn Jose the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film festival. Both films are being featured in the Turin Film Festival. END
