06 December 2016 — More than 300 overseas Filipinos availed of the passport and consular services offered by the Philippine Consulate General in Milan during a mobile consular mission to Bologna in Emilia-Romagna region, northern Italy from November 26 to 27.
Milan PCG’s 3rd consular mission for the year was headed by Consul Conrado Demdem, Jr. and participated in by partner agencies, including Overseas Worker’s Welfare Association (OWWA), Social Security System (SSS), and Pag-Ibig.
Consul Demdem met with leaders of the Federation of Filipino Associations in Bologna (FEDFAB) during the consular mission and thanked them for continuing to support and collaborate with the Philippine Consulate in projects and activities promoting the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos in the province.
During the outreach, Consul Demdem also administered the oath of allegiance to Ms. Jocelyn Bulseco who retained her Philippine citizenship per Republic Act No. 9225.
There are an estimated 10,000 overseas Filipinos working and residing in the province of Bologna and 15,000 Filipinos in the entire Emilia-Romagna region. Many of them work in households, factories, and food processing plants. END
